Pick number 3 in my one every day list:
The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle
As a tiny green caterpillar eats his way through the book, he is transformed into a beautiful butterfly, in a board book edition of the classic picture book.
Noticing a pattern here? I happen to be a big fan of Eric Carle. I love the simplicity of his stories and I’m drawn to the beautiful colors.
Follow up activities:
We always do the traditional egg carton caterpillars. I also have a cardboard caterpillar that the children can attach velcro alphabet letters to during circle time. However, if you want to find a wealth of activities for this story join Pinterest. It’s amazing the creativity you will find just by plugging in the name of a story into the search box.
