Positive Effect Water Challenge

So, here is that number again.

It’s lower than the last time thank goodness…but, not much lower.  What have I done differently this past week?

Paying serious attention to portions: According to About.com the key to losing weight is controlling the amount of food that goes into your mouth.  Duh??!! I think here in America we have been conditioned to eating super-sized meals and we don’t even have a good idea of what a normal portion is.  It’s definitely a lot smaller than what you get at most restaurants!

More exercise:  I’ve started lifting weights and making sure I’m moving everyday.

Water:  I’ve made it a point to make sure I’m drinking at least 64 oz. each day.  I’m not feeling so tired and I’m wondering if making sure I’m hydrated is the reason.

I’m participating in the Positive Effect Challenge over at Alltheweigh.com starting tomorrow, July 12 and ending Sunday, August 1.  The idea is to create the habit of staying hydrated over a 3 week period.  That is my goal and one I’m trying to set for my family.  It’s a good time for us to start as the regular string of 90 and 100 degree days are starting to set in.

Great job on the weight loss! As long as it’s going down, it’s a success. 😀

Portion sizes are out of control. It is rather shocking to discover what a real portion is like. Have you ever seen the charts that compare US servings to those in France or other European countries? It’s kind of crazy…

  2. I’m so glad you’re participating in the water challenge with Sean and me. Just saying. 🙂

It’s amazing how basic losing weight is..eating sensible portions and exercising completely works. Why didn’t we all figure it out sooner?

Congrats on your progress Stacy. I’m excited!
